My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org***

Meet Casey!  Casey is a sweet, even-tempered, playful, affectionate young cat. He loves to cuddle with humans. In the beginning, other cats make him nervous but now he is as confident and outgoing as the rest of the crew. These days Casey can be found hanging out with all the other FeLV positive kitties. For those that don't know, FeLV stands for Feline Leukemia and Casey has this virus.  It's not that common but it is kinda a big deal because we need Casey to go to a home that will always pay attention to how he is feeling and make sure to get him to an understanding veterinarian if he is feeling crummy.  Because it doesn't mean Casey can't get better if he gets sick, it just means he needs medicine and care right away is he's under the weather.   Casey is currently feeling pretty good, and we hope he can live a long, good quality life. Is this where you come in? This is a cat who will be happy to hang out in the same room as you either next to you or on your lap, but won’t be pushy once he’s had some snuggles. He likes to play. He also likes to sleep a lot, which seems to be genetic because his sibling was just the same way.

Casey was born November 2022. He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. As always, cat/kitten adoptions are free will donation to approved applicants. ****The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org****

More about this shelter

The ECAS is an all volunteer, no kill shelter. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome pets in need due to neglect, abandonment, abuse or from simply not being wanted! We started in 2010 due to a need in our community. We are currently a foster based organization and we are currently building our new shelter facility. We work hand in hand with other rescue and shelters in the area to help out when and where we are needed.
