Meet Pluto

Meet Pluto, an out-of-this-world, adorable, young guy who loves humans and is eager to please everyone he meets! Pluto is a neutered male, black and white Hound/Greyhound mix. He is nearly a year and a half old and weighs just over 48 lbs.

Being a very smart and curious boy, and having spent a good part of his time on earth living at the county shelter, Pluto has learned a lot about how to be a good dog, and he tries to practice all he has learned every day. He is curious and very eager to learn more. He knows basic doggie commands like sit, he walks well on leash and pays attention to his human handler, he takes his treats gently, plays well and kennels well with other dogs, tries to stay house-trained while living in a kennel, and he is a perfect passenger in the car. When he isn't busy practicing his good dog skills, Pluto loves to play with toys, loves to give and get affection to/from his human, and enjoys running around in the shelter play yards with a dog pal to burn off some of that young dog energy. With some training, leadership and a consistent schedule, we are confident that this boy will become the incredible guy he was meant to be.

Pluto can be seen at the San Diego County Animal Shelter, 2481 Palomar Airport Road, Carlsbad, CA 92011. Pluto is available for adoption or to foster.
