My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Casper is a rolly polly kitten with so much love to give! He may be named after a ghost, but this little guy is the furthest thing from spooky. Casper loves playing with his siblings, eating snacks, and cuddling up on your lap for a good nap. He is sure to bring joy to your family chasing around a feather or string toy, followed by a snuggle session of course! As soon as you touch him, Casper starts purring and often rolls over on his back for a tummy rub. He is an adorable, sweet little soul ready for a family to love him just the way he is!

Casper loves his siblings Coffee and Coconut and would be happy to be adopted with one of them, or could go by himself. He also thinks the other cats and dog in his foster home are pretty fun to play with, and would probably do very well with the other pets in your home, too. Casper is still very little, so a family with no kids or older, cat-savvy kids would be best. He is doing great using his litter box and hasn't had a single accident! Could Casper the friendly ghost kitty be the right fit for your family?

Casper is 3.5 months old and 3 lbs. All cats have had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer and treated for fleas and ear mites if needed. If you are interested in meeting this cat please complete the adoption application on our website at https://safehandsrescue.org/adoption-process/ and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We only adopt out animals to homes within 60 miles of the Twin Cities. Our adoption process begins with the return of our pre-adoption form, available on our website. After reviewing your application a meeting is scheduled between you and the pup, sometimes in the fosters home or at a neutral dog friendly place. If any resident dogs are in your home, it is recommended that the pups meet at this time. After the meeting a home visit is scheduled and if everything goes well with the visit the adoption is finalized at that time. A home visit by one of Safe Hands representatives is REQUIRED prior to finalizing any adoption and we must meet all members of the household where the pup will be living sometime during the adoption process.

Come on out and meet all of our great adoptable pups!! On weekends we have meetings at random locations. See our events page on our website or social media.

More about this rescue

Safe Hands is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization dedicated to saving lives and finding forever homes for stray, abandoned and surrendered dogs in high kill shelters. Of great importance to us is to reduce the stray population and need for healthy animal euthanasia through spay/neuter programs, education, and promotion of respect for the furry creatures that share our lives.

We are a small, no-kill, volunteer run organization. All of our dogs listed are in foster homes waiting to be adopted and because of this, we get to know the dogs' personalities very well and use this information to match them to an appropriate home. We do not have a physical shelter.

This rescue is not funded by public funds nor does it receive many donations so it is dependent on adoption fees to keep operating. We have a great need for foster homes. If you are interested in providing foster care, and live within an hour of the Twin Cities, please e-mail us
Donations ALWAYS needed are: dog crates, puppy pee pads, natures miracle (for pet stain removal), Nutrisource brand puppy and dog food, Lysol disinfecting wipes, paper towels, large clean towels, dog toys, leashes, collars and gas cards to help with our transports.
