My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I lived with children in my previous home.

I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!

Domino tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Due to the behavior shown, he may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced.

A volunteer writes: With notes that say, "All Domino wants is love," my heart kind of tears a bit when I see the kitty they describe. The Care Center can be a lot and though asking for what you want is a great way to get it, Domino tends to slowly back away from my attempts at friendship. I know that his world has shifted and see that he'd much rather return to his game of hide and seek. In Domino's previous home, he loved playing hide and seek. Though I think since being with us at the shelter, he's been in one long and much less enjoyable game. Domino's previous family prepared us with sparkle written notes, describing him as loving, friendly, playful, and affectionate. A gentle guy who loves to look out windows and has been trying his best to find a place for himself at the shelter, where he's decidedly not loving it. I may not know Domino well, though it's not for lack of trying, but I do know he has so much to offer the family who takes a chance on him.
