My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi I'm Ace, I'm a big softie! I just love people. I adore attention, crave cuddles, thrive on tenderness. My favourite thing is when people come to see me and give me lots of rubs and snuggles. I will rub up against you and nestle right in for some hugs, neck rubs and cheek scratches. I'm a social butterfly and a complete cuddle bug and I dream of having a loving family to call my own.

Ace is a beautiful cat, inside and out. Unfortunately Ace has gone through a bit of a hard time and wasn't in the best shape when he came to us. Ace is diabetic. Ace had gone quite a long time without being treated for his condition. It's hard to imagine the suffering he went through. It breaks your heart, he is such a loving and trusting boy. Like in humans, these days diabetes is easy to deal with. Since arriving at the shelter, Ace has done so well and is now healthy and is being treated with insulin and is doing amazing. He looks great and feels great. Ace requires an injection of insulin in the morning and evening. He is such a good boy, he is literally one of the sweetest and most loving cats we have ever had. He is no problem to inject. It's a tiny needle that goes into the scruff of his neck with the tiniest amount of insulin. He lets us do it no problem at all, hardly notices, doesn't budge! All he's interested in is getting attention. He has such a gentle temperament, he is always happy and so affectionate. He loves kisses and cuddles and nudging his head into you to show his love. He's so laid back and is content just to be around you. He likes playing with toys, but cuddling and getting rubs and scratches are his favourite things! You know when he's really enjoying it when he drools. It's very endearing! He's the cutest.

Ace truly truly deserves a second chance. He's the best boy and we all love him here at the shelter. Ace's insulin is a very small dose daily. One vial of insulin lasts a long time. Like humans, cats like Ace can get an ongoing prescription from the vet for insulin that can be picked up at the pharmacy, so the cost is not high for his maintenance. If you have room in your house and in your heart for a very special boy, then please call us, we really want to see him going into a loving home where he can be spoiled and lavished with all of the love and attention that he deserves. Most people pass over Ace because of his condition, which is devastating, please don't pass him by.
