My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children.

A volunteer writes: It's a bird! It's a bat! It's ALIKAI! Famous in the Queens ACC volunteer community for her spectacular bat ears, Alikai is a friendly, sweet girl, who I am surprised to keep finding still in her kennel week after week. On walks, she is responsive to treats and motivated by the goodies in my pocket. When we sit down to watch the world go by for a moment, she wiggles around me, enjoys scratches behind those big bat eats, gently accepts more treats, and delights me with her adorable chompies. I marvel at her: between the gorgeous, shiny black coat, and her beautiful teeth, Alikai seems to have won the genetic lottery. She pushes her forehead into my side, both sniffing for more treats, and asking for more pets. She's a young, energetic pup, who would love an opportunity to run and go on long walks, before cuddling up with her human on the couch.

Animal Care Centers of NYC encourages everyone to come to one of our three full service Care Centers when looking to adopt a pet. Beautiful dogs, cats, guinea pigs and rabbits are anxiously waiting a home to call their own.

All ACC adoptions include vaccinations, a microchip, spay/neuter, one month of free pet health insurance, and a free office visit at a participating veterinarian.
