My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Veto!

This handsome cat was found as a stray around Palouse River Dr in Moscow and seemed far too friendly to be outside by himself. He was taken to HSoP for care and was unfortunately never claimed by an owner. Now he's on the hunt for his perfect forever home!

Wondering about his name? When Veto arrived, he was LOUD! He had so much to tell us all the time, and honestly, it started to sound like he was disagreeing (or veto-ing) with everything we said. His declarative statements earned him a fitting name - Veto! Some things never change, and Veto is still as vocal as he was the day he arrived.

We estimate Veto to be around 4 years old. He's neutered, up to date on vaccines, and will leave HSoP with a microchip containing his new owner's information. Since he arrived as a stray, we can't say how he would do around dogs, cats, or children in his future home.

Veto has three standout characteristics when you first meet him: a loud voice, lots of affection, and an unrelenting urge to run and explore! Veto is a known "flight-risk" at the shelter, meaning he takes every available opportunity to try and exit his kennel. Visitors and volunteers have to be extra careful when saying hi to Veto, as he's usually planning his escape before his kennel door is open. We think he might appreciate some supervised outside him (on a leash and harness) in his future home! In his own space with more room to roam than the shelter, he may be perfectly content. For now, Veto is itching for adventure!

He is a very affectionate cat, and loves a good scratch all over. Like most cats, Veto would appreciate a respectful owner who lets him come and go on his own terms. This would encourage plenty of trust and love from Veto!

This talkative feline is completely ready for adoption. If you're interested in getting to know Veto, we encourage you to come meet him at HSoP! We're open from 2:00-6:00pm Monday through Saturday with no appointments needed. PLEASE NOTE: Dog kennels close at 5:00pm each day.

HSoP is located at 2019 E White Ave Moscow, ID 83843.
