Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*Note: Mawooma is in a foster home in Vancouver.
Background: Mawooma was rescued in September 2023 from a neglectful situation in Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do. She was tied to a pole with little food or water and left under neglect. Despite her tough start, she adapted well to city life and noise. Currently, she lives in a condo as the only dog at a foster home in Vancouver.
Personality and socialization: Mawooma has a medium energy level and is gentle and calm. She is good with people and comfortable around strangers, whether men or women, as long as they are kind to her. Mawooma is like a shadow to her foster, displaying remarkable intelligence and loyalty.
When it comes to other dogs, Mawooma is generally fine with those who are friendly and gentle, but she isn't fond of hyper or bossy dogs. While she may be shy with new dogs and unfamiliar places, she is never aggressive and appreciates gentle approaches and gradual changes, usually adapting well over time.
However, Mawooma won't be great with cats, and she has no experience with young children. Currently, she lives in a condo as the only dog at a foster home in Vancouver.
Behaviors: Mawooma is a joyful dog who loves going for walks. She loves leisurely walks, isn't bothered by city sounds, and enjoys nose work games. She's generally well-behaved on a leash, though she can get a bit excited when she spots small animals. Aside from that, she has excellent leash manners and is a delight to take outside.
Mawooma is also great in the car, OK with her baths, and is comfortable using the elevator. Initially, she showed some signs of separation anxiety. Ideally, Mawooma would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time to keep her company.
Health: Blessed with good health and no known food allergies, Mawooma is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Monthly preventative measures safeguard her against internal and external parasites.
Ideal home: The ideal adopter for Mawooma is a patient individual who understands her need for gradual adjustment. Someone who works from home or is retired in a quiet household would be great for her. Mawooma will thrive with people who enjoy outdoor activities with their dogs. In return, she offers loyalty, gentle companionship, and moments of joy. Her journey from neglect to hope is a heartwarming story waiting to be continued with a loving family.
