My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Eli and his sister came to us as bottle babies at just 2 weeks of age. He was near death and was rescued and brought to a good state of health. With some serious intensive care, Eli has become a thriving, sweet, and playful baby boy who has filled out more but small for his age, gained weight, and is full of life! This MOST PRECIOUS little boy LOVES HUMANS! Eli LOVES to be held like a human baby, carried around throughout the house, and kissed! If you were to carry him with his hands on your shoulders and your arms supporting him around his body, he would let you carry him around like a human child for hours!!! He can’t get enough human love and he purrs the very second you pick him up! This baby requires a LOT of interaction not only with humans, but with another playmate! He will get along with other kittens, cats, or even dogs! Eli is an absolute darling that will completely melt your heart! He does not like to be left alone, nor does he want to be behind closed doors where he can’t be with his human! If you are on the other side of a closed door, he will cry continuously until you open the door back up. Eli will sleep in bed with you at night or the very top of a cat condo and will even nap if there is a pile of soft fluffy blankets on the bed already. Knowing where he came from to where he is now, it’s been an extremely long and difficult journey for this little tike. It is going to take someone or a family that is extra special to know what a real treasure this precious baby is! He will need another playmate in place so he has another “sibling” to play with in his FOREVER home.

Additional adoption info

ADOPTION PROCESS
The following is a list of requirements new owners must meet and agree to before adopting a kittie from KITTIE CORRAL. KITTIE CORRAL only adopts to homes with sterilized pets.
Call for adoption fee; donations are gladly accepted.

All kitties adopted will be INDOOR ONLY – KITTIE CORRAL does not adopt "outdoor" kitties EVER. After one week, if it doesn't work out, the kittie MUST be returned to KITTIE CORRAL!

THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE ADOPTING
Before you make the final decision to adopt, please take the time to consider the following questions:

Why do you want a kitten/cat?
Ask yourself this question before you decide to adopt. There are many reasons why you might want a kittie, however, remember that the kittie may be with you for 10, 15 or even 20 years. Please be sure that you are willing to commit to caring for the long term.

Will you be a responsible pet owner?
Give your kittie lots of love, companionship, exercise, a healthy diet and regular veterinary care. All these things make a responsible pet owner.

Is it a good time for you to adopt a kitten/cat?
If you are a student, in the military, or travel frequently, consider waiting until you settle down before adopting. If you have small children under the age of three, you may want to wait. Children should be mature enough to be responsible companions.

Who will care for your kittie when you go on vacation?
You will need friends or neighbors reliable enough that you can trust to care for the pet in your absence. However, KITTIE CORRAL does offer “babysitting” services while you vacation. Otherwise, you will need money to pay for a pet sitting service or boarding.

Do you have the time to devote to a kittie?
Your kittie cannot be ignored just because you are tired or busy. They require food, water, exercise, love and companionship every day.

Can you afford a kitten/cat?
The costs of pet ownership can be quite high. Expenses for all the things the kittie will need can add up quickly. If you are already struggling to make ends meet, you probably should not consider adopting yet.

Can you deal with special problems?
Some unfortunate, but common aspects of cat ownership include flea infestations, scratched furniture and unexpected medical emergencies.

Are you allowed to have a kitten/cat where you live?
Most importantly, if you live in an apartment, there may be restrictions regarding pets. Please make it your business to know what these are BEFORE adopting a cat. If you cannot afford a pet deposit or the lease specifically states "No Pets" then don't adopt. If you do reside in an apartment, a copy of your current lease MUST BE PROVIDED PRIOR TO ADOPTION!

Are you prepared to care for the kittie for his or her entire life?
When you adopt a cat, you are making a commitment to care for the kittie for his or her entire lifetime.

If you are now ready to continue with the Adoption Process, then fill out our Application and Contract forms.
Email kittiecorral@gmail.com with any questions you have about the kittie you are interested.

Meet the kittie/Meet the family
Once a phone interview has been completed, HOME INTERVIEW will be conducted at the of adoption. It is MANDATORY we meet everyone who is in the home on a regular basis at the initial interview. We ask that you allow one week for the kittie to become acclimated to the new environment and new owner(s). If the kittie is not adjusting within 5 days, then the kittie must be returned to KITTIE CORRAL.

Final In-Home Visit and Finalize Adoption -
After a four-week acclimation period, a final in-home visit is made by KITTIE CORRAL. From this time forward, KITTIE CORRAL will, on occasion, reach out to the new owners and get an update on how well the kittie is doing. Gifts will also be mailed out for the kittie, typically once per year.

Go meet their pets

As part of the Adoption Process, information about you will be obtained through a phone interview first. Then, a home interview will be scheduled where Kittie Corral brings the kittie to you. At that time, a home inspection will be done to verify that the new FOREVER home is clean, safe, and secure for the new family member.

More about this rescue

Kittie Corral is a FLORIDA based non-profit 501(C)3 organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of homeless cats by providing health care and placement in safe forever homes.

WHY we do what we do
MISSION
Kittie Corral is dedicated to rescuing and saving the lives of sick, injured, and stray cats who have been abused, left homeless, or neglected. Kittie Corral will also spay or neuter, vaccinate, and provide necessary medical treatment, and find loving, adoptive, safe homes for these stray and neglected cats.
We seek to place animals in a permanent home after recovery and we DO NOT euthanize unless terminal illness necessitates such a decision. All our cats are spayed or neutered, tested for Feline AIDS and Leukemia, de-wormed, de-flead, and vaccinated before they are adopted.

VISION
Kittie Corral seeks to reduce the cat overpopulation through active engagement in the community when possible. Kittie Corral assists cats who, because of extenuating circumstances, are unable to remain in their home with their owners to prevent a higher number of shelter intake and reduce the number of euthanasia’s, so we are committed to reducing the euthanasia of adoptable pets.
