My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rover is a male Heeler/Pointer puppy, 6 months old, 34 lbs. He's a fun, snuggly, little guy who is playful but also has an off switch. He loves his foster packmates and exploring the yard, and is learning about household life quickly. He's great with kids and other dogs, crate- and mostly house-trained, uses a doggy door and is easily corrected, but like most puppies is still in need of guidance, like what's appropriate to chew on. Rover is very athletic, smart, and trainable, easy-going and confident, and loves his toys and chasing a ball. He'll be a great dog to take out and about and will be up for whatever activities you and your family enjoy. Rover is 34lbs and cute as a button with a nubby tail and beautiful silver-flecked coat. He will make an AMAZING family member!🧸 He's being fostered in the Jacksonville FL area and is scheduled for neutering.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require potential adopters to fill out an Adoption Application. When that is approved we can arrange for the prospective adopter to meet the dog they are interested in. We do require an adoption contract to be signed at time of adoption. We have a virtual home-check process (don't forget to submit photos of the exterior of your home!) Adoption fees range depending on the age of the dog. We do have dogs located at qualified fosters throughout the state and also out of state.

Go meet their pets

Since all rescue dogs live in foster homes, there is no single facility to meet pups.

You will need to contact Ewenity Farms HDH to make arrangements to meet the rescue dog after you have an approved app on file. Apps can be filled out at ewenityfarm.org

More about this rescue

We are a small, foster-based rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one-on-one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary.

It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
