My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Monarda., a stunning black and white medium-haired beauty with a heart of gold!

Monarda is the epitome of grace and cleanliness, boasting  impeccable litter box habits  that will make your life a breeze. This lovely feline is the perfect companion for a calm and serene household with no small kids, as she has a  low energy  level and enjoys lounging around in cozy spots.  Her favorite spot in her foster home is perched up on a cat tree and she sleeps most of the day in her foster home.

Her striking black and white coat is not only beautiful but also a joy to groom. Monarda  loves pets and brushing , making her the ideal cat for someone who enjoys spending quality time pampering their furry friend. We believe Monarda will be happiest as an only kitty in a quiet home so if you only have room for one she could be your perfect match!

If you’re looking for a gentle, low-maintenance, and affectionate companion, Monarda is the perfect match for you! â¤ï¸

Monarda is a low energy kitty who enjoys lots of nap time and perching on her cat tree in her foster home.

Monarda has tested FeLV/FIV/HW negative, is up-to-date on vaccines, has been dewormed, microchipped and spayed. An adopter with previous long hair cat experience and documented previous annual feline veterinary care is required.   Local adoptions only.  Adoption fee is $175

Additional adoption info

PLEASE ALLOW 4-5 BUSINESS DAYS FOR YOUR APPLICATION TO BE THOROUGHLY PROCESSED BY ONE OF OUR ADOPTION COUNSELORS
Our fees are:
$100 for a cat.
$250 for a dog.
$300 for a puppy.

Some of our foster cats, dogs and rabbits may have a higher adoption fee; they are considered as a "benefactor animal". Please note that this information will be available online on each benefactor's bio page. Thank you.

*Please note that all our animals are spayed or neutered, if old enough. We do charge a $50 refundable spaying/neutering deposit for puppies & kittens, which is in addition to the adoption fee. This deposit will be returned once you provide proof of spaying or neutering which is required under the adoption agreement.

Applying for adoption does not necessarily guarantee that you will be approved. We have requirements that all prospective "parents" must meet:

A drivers license or some form of photo identification with your current address;
Residency-do you own your home or do you rent it? If you own your home, please bring some proof of home ownership or you may fax it to us at 610-862-3938 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              610-862-3938      end_of_the_skype_highlighting. This can be a copy of your deed, mortgage payment book or tax bill.
If you are not the owner of the property, then we need to check with the owners of the property to be sure that the animal will be allowed.
If you live in an apartment, we need to see a copy of your lease stating that you are allowed to have pets.
What other animals are currently living in the household, and what is their disposition? We need to be sure that the animal you are adopting will get along with the other "members" of your household.
We need your veterinarian’s name and contact information of not only your current animal(s) but your previous animals as well so we can obtain a reference. Are your existing animals up to date on vaccines and have they been spayed and neutered? We cannot consider you as prospective adopters if your existing animals do not meet these standards-PLUS it's a good idea for the health and well-being of your own animals as well.

Please also note that, once approved and once you've adopted an animal from us, we reserve the right to do a post-adoption home visitation to check on the well-being of the animal.

More about this rescue

The Animal Coalition of Delaware County is a 501 (c) (3), non-profit, all-volunteer, charitable organization registered with the Pennsylvania Department of State that is dedicated to finding loving homes for adoptable, homeless pets. Our mission is to reduce stray and shelter animal populations in the Philadelphia region by finding permanent homes for adoptable dogs, cats, and rabbits. Underlying this mission is a strong commitment to educating the public about the importance of spaying, neutering, and the responsibilities of long-term pet ownership.

You can reach us any time, day or night, via e-mail or by phone (610-876-1479). Our hardworking group is all-volunteer and all-foster, which means that the dogs, cats, and rabbits in our care reside in the safe haven of a foster home until they are adopted. We get to know our foster pets very well so that we can match potential adopters and pets during our screening and interviewing process prior to adoption to ensure a loving bond that will last the pet’s lifetime. The Animal Coalition makes sure that each pet in our care has been examined by a veterinarian, received any necessary vaccinations or tests and is spayed or neutered (if old enough) prior to adoption, and microchipped.

Being all-volunteer also means that we have very little overhead, so the donations we collect go directly towards providing veterinary care and adoption promotion for our pets.

We ask that you be patient with us in responding to your emails, calls and faxes. We are an all-volunteer group and do what we do because we love animals. We also have full time jobs and families and many of us have foster pets in addition to our own, so we do our best to respond as quickly as possible.

We are not affiliated with any local, state or federal agency or any other SPCA or humane group. Our work is supported entirely by the generosity of the general public and the group members. Since we are a 501 (c) (3) organization, donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
