My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cleopatra!!
Miss Cleo is a spunky, independent, FEARLESS little girl! She was found as a stray, but since moving indoors with her foster family, she has not been shy! She will bolt into any room confidently or strut right up to another cat for an introduction. She's done well with the other adult cats in her foster home...in fact, she completely ignored their initial hisses towards her, walked right past them, and took the toy she wanted to play with!!
Cleopatra LOVES watching the birds at the feeder outside the window at her foster home. She also loves jumping with her long back legs to catch feather toys midair! She is quite fond of sleeping next to a window, where she can feel the hot Alabama sun, and while she isn't a lap cat yet, she is happy to nap right next to her humans. Watch out though...she will pretend to sleep and then steal your popcorn right out of the bowl! She, like her brother, is fond of being picked up to be snuggled by her humans, and purrs when given good full body pets.
She is a SMART kitten! Cleopatra loves swatting at cat games on the tablet, attacking her ball track, and wrestling with her brother. Because she is a smart kitten, this means she will find her own entertainment if not provided with any (like unrolling your toilet paper roll!), so she MUST be adopted into a home with another kitten!! Please consider adopting her with her favorite playmate, her brother Ramses, who is also available for adoption! She hasn't been dog tested, but would likely do well with a cat-friendly dog, given her overconfidence!
Cleopatra will be available to adopt after her neuter on September 5, but is available for foster-to adopt now. If you are interested in bringing this girl into your family, fill out an application on our website.

More about this rescue

Friends of Rescue is a certified 501(c)(3) organization formed in 2009, consisting of volunteers who are devoted to saving shelter animals that are in danger of euthanasia. Southern shelters have a constant overflow of dogs and cats, little funding, and limited space. Once the animals arrive at the shelter, they have very little time. It is our goal to help save these adoptable animals and find loving individuals/families who will provide committed, FORever homes. We are NOT professional trainers or animal behaviorists; simply volunteers who are trying to save these animals from euthanasia. Each animal in our program is in a foster home and receives all age-appropriate vetting while in our care.
