Meet Copper, a 2-year-old Shepherd mix with soulful big brown eyes and a striking reddish coat. Copper's journey hasn't been easy—he was found as a stray and, sadly, was never claimed. Understandably, he’s been very scared at the shelter and often stays on his cot, unsure of the world around him. Despite his fear, Copper has started to make small steps toward trust. He’s learned to come for a treat, and while he’s still wary of most people, he never growls. Copper gets along well with other dogs, and with the right family, he has the potential to blossom into a loving and loyal companion. He needs a patient and devoted home where his family will be around most of the time, committed to helping him build confidence and never giving up on him. A fenced-in yard is essential to provide Copper with the safe space he needs to explore at his own pace. If you're ready to offer a loving, stable home to a dog who just needs time and patience, Copper could be the perfect match for you. Apply to love and help sweet Copper at HeberSpringsHumaneSociety.com
Copper’s adoption fee is $100.00 and includes first shots, worming, and sterilization. Optional microchipping and registration is available for an additional $20.00. Please fill out an adoption application at heberspringshumanesociety.com and a volunteer will contact you. The adoption application is NOT on Adopt a Pet. You must apply on our Heber Springs Humane Society website

More about this shelter
Our orginzation was founded by Doug Bakko. Funds were raised to build the original shelter on land donated. The shelter has since been expanded using donations and fund raisers. We are the only Shelter in Cleburne County. Our operating funds come from our Thrift Shop, donations, fund raisers and some assistance from the city of Heber Springs, surrounding towns in Cleburne County. We work very hard keeping animals happy and healthy. We do this because we love animals and want to give them a safe haven and every chance possible to go to a loving home.
