Serena came to Longmeadow as an owner surrender in the summer of 2024. This beautiful mare settled into life at the Ranch quickly. After she completed her 30-day routine quarantine, she was ready to be evaluated by our trainers!
Upon evaluation, our trainers found this Paint mare to be relatively calm and collected. She was evaluated in our indoor arena among other horses and stayed quiet and focused, following her handler carefully. Because of this noteable temperament, our trainers believe Serena to be a seasoned mount before her arrival at Longmeadow.
Our trainers also found that with inexperienced handlers, Serena tends to be pushy on the ground and under saddle. She needs consistent correction when negative behaviors arise. While she has never kicked out, popped up, or shown any major signs of protest on the ground or under saddle, we still believe she would do best with a confident intermediate adopter that can take the role as her leader.
Don`t let that previous paragraph sway your opinion of this pretty girl. Serena is full of positive attributes! She is great with fly spray and picking up her feet. She stands nicely for the farrier and loads in a trailer like a pro! Her beautiful color and stunning paint features make her a looker, and she is in great shape for her age! She also enjoys physical affection and will stand nicely to be groomed and loved on. Our trainers really enjoyed evaluating her, and they believe she would make a cute lead line horse for a child!
