My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! BURRITO here! I am a friendly male tiny 13 pound chihuahua/ miniature pincher mix (they think) that is 2-3 years old.

I am crate trained and make sure to keep it clean so regular potty breaks are appreciated. I think I'd like to continue these good habits in my home by having that kind of structure. I like treats and will even stand on my hind legs to entertain you. I do like to jump on the couch and sneak a cuddle too. I've gotten used to the leash too. Chew toys are appreciated and help keep me out of trouble! I'm a curious dude and do have a fair amount of energy so lots of walks and playtime will be appreciated

I attended several public events and was told I was the star! I greeted everyone appropriately (my handler told them to let me sniff their hand first) and had no problems with the other dogs. And boy did I love those pup cups! I enjoyed rolling around in the grass had had a blast just being a dog. My tail was awaggin the entire time! I heard someone say I was a handsome dude and I knew it! Hey, confidence is good, right?

My perfect home would have a fenced in yard to play. I'm a little guy, so respectful older kids are OK but active very small active munchkins make me scared. An adult single or couple who wants some cuddles would be fine too.

I think you will quickly fall in love with me. I cant wait to find my forever family. Wont you please consider adding me to your family?

Yours (I hope),

BURRITO

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.
