Meet one of the Music Icon Puppies…Elvis! He is a such a sweet puppy. He let his foster know that he is looking for someone to "Love Me Tender". Could that be you? He is a cuddly, friendly puppy who is looking for his forever home. He is "All Shook Up" with excitement thinking about the future. Who can resist this bundle of joy? His momma, Maddy, is a 32 lb mix dog who is also pictured above. We feel that her puppies will be her size or maybe a bit larger.
Elvis is a typical puppy who is learning a lot of new skills. We are working on crate training. He is almost potty trained and getting used to his potty schedule. He loves going on walks and is doing well getting used to a leash. Since he is young, you must be vigilant that he does not sneak out doors or fences until he is full grown and knows his boundaries.
Elvis has not met a human he does not love. He is very social and loves to meet new people.
Elvis has been around our youngest child who is 12 and he was great with him and our other children. Puppies may nibble, bite and mouth so he may not be appropriate for very young children unless they have had experience around dogs/puppies.
Elvis currently lives with 4 foster sisters of all different sizes and temperaments and plays well with all of them. We have a cat and at first, he was curious but for the most part, he leaves the cat alone. Elvis is mostly quiet unless he is hungry, and he will let you know it’s time to eat.
While Elvis would be ok in an apartment, he loves running around a fenced in yard. He has a lot of energy and seems to really enjoy running and playing with my dogs and then crashing and sleeping hard. He is currently used to having me at home all the time and a fenced in yard with siblings to play with. So I think that situation would be ideal but he could get used to not having a fence d yard as long as he had daily walks and plenty of exercise.
He does not like being left alone but we are working on him being left in his crate for short periods. He would do best in an environment where someone is home all day. In his forever home, he would love being the center of attention but would also love a pet sibling to play with.
Elvis is an absolute sweetheart. He is super snuggly and playful. He loves sitting in your lap and giving lots of kisses. He'd make a great companion for older kids and a great playmate for another dog. He is smart as he has already learned to sit for his food or treats. He is also eager to please both his humans and dog friends.
Elvis is packing up his toys already and is getting ready for his next adventure in life! If you're looking for a loving, loyal, and sweet companion who's always up for fun, Elvis might just be the pup for you! â¤ï¸
EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Elvis was born at a shelter after his momma was picked up as a stray. Best Friend Pet Adoption quickly rescued both the momma and her 4 puppies. They are all safe now and will live the rest of their lives in loving homes. Maybe you can open your home for one of these lucky puppies.

Applicants for puppies should ideally live no more than 60 minutes from Cary NC since he must receive medical care in the Cary area. Best Friend Pet Adoption will cover all medical cost for Elvis until his adoption is finalized once he is neutered when he is around 6 months old. Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions. We therefore require applicants to live close to Cary NC.

Best Friend Pet Adoption (BFPA) is a no-kill animal rescue organization based in central North Carolina. BFPA has no building, office, or shelter. We are an all-foster network committed to helping dogs and cats in need of homes. Individual donations are our most important source of income as we receive no public funding.
Our purpose is to provide medical assistance, foster homes, and adoption services to previously lost, abandoned, abused, or neglected animals in Wake County, NC and the surrounding counties. Our mission is to educate this disposable society in which we live that every life should be valued and cherished and is directly linked to human responsibility and commitment.
Almost all the animals we rescue require immediate medical attention. BFPA never turns away or euthanizes an animal because of the expense involved in returning them to good health. All our rescued animals are evaluated for temperament, examined by a veterinarian, vaccinated, microchipped (if possible) and sterilized, if age appropriate. Cats and dogs receive monthly flea/tick preventative and dogs also receive monthly heartworm preventative.
The most important ingredients we provide to these animals are loving care and a safe haven -- something most of them have never experienced. These cats and dogs live in volunteer foster homes until we find them a loving permanent home, however long it takes. We match these precious beings to a single, couple or family who understand cats and dogs should be full participating members of the family. Our hope is that these animals never have to experience being unloved again.

BFPA was created in 1998 by two Raleigh-area women who had volunteered with other established rescues in the Triangle. Their dedication to help homeless dogs and cats has led to an organization that has grown to over 225 volunteers strong.
BFPA received 501(c)(3) status in 1999.
