My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

sweet black kitten who needs socialization

New Arrival into the store
Location: Petsmart Ocean Twp , NJ

Special Opportunity Bonded pair

Jersey Girl and Roo are sisters who were found as tiny, frail kittens, teetering on the brink of death. A compassionate rescuer took them in, nursed them back to health with tender care and boundless love. In foster care, they were super loving and gradually learning to trust. However, due to unforeseen and heart-breaking circumstances beyond their control, their foster could no longer care for and socialize them. With limited foster options, they were placed in a rescue holding facility. Despite the volunteers' tireless efforts, Jersey Girl and Roo remained utterly terrified, their little hearts breaking with each passing day .

Fast forward to now .
After three months in a quieter foster home, they have blossomed into the most beautiful, affectionate ladies. They have learned to trust and love human contact. They absolutely adore other cats and are incredibly friendly, always welcoming new feline friends.

These 12-month-old sisters are inseparable. They sleep together, play together, groom each other, and snuggle often. Roo, a tabby, loves having her back rubbed. Though initially shy when approached face-to-face, she melts into your hands when you pet her back. Jersey Girl, with her beautiful, soft, and silky black coat and a white patch on her chest, falls into a loving trance when you pet around her neck.
They both have playful spirits and would make the best addition to a quiet home.
These gentle souls would thrive in a home with other felines. They will need some extra patience and love as they may be shy with new humans. They are ready to finally find their forever home, where they can feel safe, cherished, and loved ✨.
They are spayed, microchipped, SNAP negative and up to date on vaccines.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Just contact us at rescueridgeshelter@gmail.com, or call us at 732-681-3450, and we will be happy to provide you with an adoption application and, upon review of personal reference checks, vet checks, and possibly home visits, you may be chosen as a permanent home for that special companion. Please note that filling out an application does NOT automatically approve anyone for a specific adoption. We want to assure that the companion and adoptive family are each going to benefit from the adoption, and that it is as permanent an adoption as possible. We ask for help through donations to help cover the costs associated with keeping the companions up-to-date on vaccinations and spay/neuter programs. We request a donation of $100 for cats, and $200 - $400 for dogs, depending on the specific rescue. We are a tax-exempt organization so that any donation you make to Rescue Ridge is tax deductible, and all costs go directly to all of the animals we rescue.

More about this rescue

Rescue Ridge is a 'last-chance' rescue. Staffed 100% through the efforts and donations of volunteers, we find homes for animals that other shelters and people have given up on. Through the kindness of various boarding kennels and foster families, rescued animals are cared for until they find that final family to love them.

Rescue Ridge began by rescuing healthy, beautiful, animals that were slated to be euthanized through no fault of their own. We felt it was unfair, that because their 'humans' had no more use for them, their days were numbered. We have tried to give each and every one of these companions a new lease on life. We rescued dogs, cats, horses and any other animal that we were able to help with our limited resources. And since we have limited space, we are always searching for those willing to help foster these wonderful creatures. We are always happy to provide information on options available to anyone needing to re-home their pet for whatever reason. It is our belief that education regarding pet ownership and its responsibilities is the best hope these companions have. You will have unending rewards when you give a second chance to one of these wonderful friends. They truly are the champions of giving unconditional love.
