My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Myra, a gentle soul who just needs a bit of extra love and patience to feel secure. She’s had a tough time finding her confidence and can easily become overwhelmed in new environments or around unfamiliar faces. Loud noises, sudden movements, and crowded areas are all things that make her feel uneasy. Myra`s fears and insecurities won’t disappear overnight—she’ll need a special family who understands that her journey will be a lifelong one.

But behind those timid eyes is a dog who wants so badly to trust and love. She just needs someone willing to take things slow, letting her explore the world at her own pace. With the right guidance and a calm, quiet home, Myra can blossom into the loyal, loving companion she’s meant to be.

If you think you can be the one to show Myra that the world isn’t so scary, please consider giving her the chance she deserves. And if you have other dogs at home, bring them by for a meet and greet—Myra would love to meet her future siblings. Myra is ready to find a family who will see her for the beautiful, brave girl she’s working hard to become!

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
