My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zoey!

Zoey became a Frosted Face through our Final Wish Program on August 11th. She was entrusted to our care after her dad's health declined. Zoey is 13 years old, very sweet and friendly, and good with dogs big and small. Be sure to watch the video of her doing great in her new play group!

Zoey is a perfect medium size Husky mix, with a bit of extra fluff she's working to lose. She's also diabetic, so she eats a special kibble diet and gets an injection of insulin twice a day. Please don't let that deter you from adopting Zoey. Her insulin and syringes are covered for life, and if you haven't given injections previously, we'll show you how!

Zoey went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn what she is like in a home environment. She earned rave reviews from her very experienced Fling Mom, who shared:

"Zoey is the EASIEST dog! Seriously, I think she's the second-easiest Fling I've ever had. She is fully house-trained and just wants to be with you. That said, she has NO separation anxiety. She won't howl or destroy your house in your absence. Good luck cleaning without her following you room to room, though, and the second you grab your keys, she'll run to the front door to be sure you don't forget her.

We went to the beach, and this girl LOVED it. She walked into the water on her own, and we walked up and down the beach several times. She's on a weight loss journey, so getting in those steps helps!

Zoey gets along with dogs of all sizes. She doesn't seem to want to play with them, but she'll say hi, then come back to me. She explored the beach a bit on her own but always checked in. If she couldn't find me, I could see a brief moment of panic in her eyes before I called for her, and she happily returned to my side.

Zoey went paddle boarding, too! She quickly jumped in and showed off her perfect doggy paddling skills. She stayed calm and let me assist her back onto the board, hung out and enjoyed the scenery a bit, then jumped in again. I am so proud of this old girl. She's such a fun, lively, brave spirit!

Zoey loves her walkies but is also a fantastic napper. She's a perfect size, friendly, and well-behaved. If you give her insulin injections while she's eating, it's super easy!

Zoey isn't just beautiful. She's the whole package and will charm the pants off everyone who meets her!"

Zoey is back on-site and ready for a forever home where she will be a cherished family member for the rest of her years. Might that be with you?

Stop by between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm any day of the week to meet this very special girl!
