My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WEIGHT: 96lbs

This is Maverick. Bigger absolutely means better in his case.

Yes, he does weigh in at 96 lbs, but he distributes his weight in a way that you sort of forget he's that big. Maverick is an Anatolian Shepherd (who acts like a Lab) and is estimated to be about 2 years old.

We mentioned he acts like a Lab because he LOVES toys, playing fetch, and people. He'll go right up to just about anyone with a soft body and an "I immediately love you" face.

With other dogs, he's been a playgroup star and his list of buddies is impressive. Pretty much everyone can play with Maverick. Even though he's so big, he adjusts himself to meet the needs of other dogs. He'll lay down to play with the littles, he'll body slam with the pitties, and he'll just run around with the ones that don't necessarily want to touch bodies. That's kind of a rare find around here!

He was in a home previously, and knows some basic commands, is crate trained, rides well in the car, and does ok when left alone. It's been reported that chasing cats is a bit of a guilty pleasure for Maverick and that it might be best to go feline-free.

If you'd like to meet this big sweetheart, feel free to call our adoptions desk or stop by during Browsing Hours: Wed-Sun 11-5!
