My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Spike was originally adopted from us 6 years ago, but came back to us when his family had a baby and felt they couldn't give him the life he deserved. Spike is looking for a quiet, calm home to call his own. Spike is an independent guy who needs time to adjust to big changes. Once he's comfortable, he'll show you his playful side - he likes stuffed mice, laser pointers, and fishing toys, but his favorite toy is popcorn! He likes to bat it around on the floor. When you become one of his special people, he will reward you by sitting close and letting you scratch behind his ears - his favorite spot!

More about this rescue

Pasado’s Safe Haven was founded in 1997 in honor of “Pasado“, a beloved donkey who was tortured to death by three teenage boys. Located on 85 acres in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, we are a non-profit on a mission to end animal cruelty.

In addition to investigating animal cruelty crimes and providing sanctuary and rehabilitation to animals who have suffered from abuse and neglect, we also advocate for better laws to protect animals and work to educate the public about how they can help end animal suffering. Through our uniquely comprehensive programs, we are able to help thousands of animals every year and spread a message of compassion to countless people.
