TRIXIE ~3-4 years old. Good with dogs with proper introduction. TBD if good with kids and cats. Fenced yard required.
GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only.
Great things come in small packages! Trixie is proof of this. Trixie is a delightful little Shepherd at about 50 pounds. We are estimating that she is 3-4 years old. She has a nice thick and shiny coat, and very intense amber eyes! She is a very friendly girl, although she can be a bit reserved when first meeting new people. Once she becomes your friend, she is a riot. She has a happy and energetic, personality, and loves to zoom around the yard and then come running up to you and come to a sliding stop at your feet. She is. learning how to play with toys. Trixie really loves attention and is very submissive. She takes correction very easily. Trixie is very eager to please and is also very food motivated. She’s a little diamond in the rough. It is our understanding from the shelter that she came from a home with 8 to 10 dogs, so she had to compete for attention. I think she will thrive in a home where she gets more individualized attention and affection.
She gets along with other dogs, but can be a little bit of a rough player. She loves to play chase, and can be both the chaser or the chased. Likewise, depending on the dog, she is also eager to engage in a more rough and tumble sort of play style if that is the personality of the dog, she is interacting with.
Trixie does very well in public and will happily sit or stand beside you if you’re talking to someone. She just kind of sits and looks and observes what’s going on around her. She has a nice calm demeanor in public. Great for the person who wants a dog to take walks with or take to dog friendly events.
Trixie is crate trained and housebroken and learns routines very easily. She’s a wonderful little girl and a nice compact package.
Trixie is unfortunately heartworm positive. She’ll be beginning treatment in mid September and should be fully recovered by the end of October.
