Cookie was adopted from Riverside Shelter, chosen as a forever companion, but her person passed away. There were not remaining family members available to care for her, so Cookie ended up back at the shelter. We scooped her on August 10th to become a Frosted Face. Cookie is 10 years old, weighs 56 lbs., and is a very sweet and friendly girl.
Cookie has some barrier reactivity on leash and behind a fence that's not true aggression when introduced to dogs properly. She does well in several play groups at FFF with dogs of varying sizes. Cookie also knows how to fetch and drop it. She is so much fun!
Bonus fact about Cookie: she passed her cat test!
Cookie Crumble went on a two-week Frosted Fling, and we learned a lot about what she is like in a home environment. Her Fling Mom reports:
"I have had the pleasure of hosting sweet Cookie Crumble for the past 3 weeks. She is a very sweet and mellow dog in the house. She's respectful and gentle and has no problem hanging out on the couch with me or at my feet even if a good walk didn't happen that day (like during the heat wave). When outdoors, Cookie acts like half her age!
Cookie is very friendly to any person we meet, and she takes treats oh-so-gently. She is house-trained and hasn't had any accidents. I do offer every few hours to go outside to go potty and lastly before bed. She sleeps through the night without any problem. I put a bed and blanket next to my bed, and she stays there all night long. She's also a late sleeper, so if I just want to lay around and have coffee, Cookie just lies back down on her bed and catches a few extra winks.
Cookie exhibits no separation anxiety, and she is usually sleeping when I return home. When I take her places, she is great in the car and really enjoys the ride.
Cookie likes to play ball, and she's one of those dogs who will chase and bring back the ball until I'm the one who ends the game! She walks well on a leash at a pretty good clip in the beginning, and then after 15 minutes or so, she slows down and strolls the rest of the walk.
Cookie is reactive to other dogs during our walks, but since she does great at FFF with other dogs, I know she doesn't she mean any harm and just wants to meet them. Also, a friend brought her dog to my house, and Cookie was so happy to play with this dog! She really seemed sad when they left to go home, so Cookie might enjoy being in a home with another canine friend.
Cookie deserves a forever home and has plenty of life and love to share with her new family!"
Cookie Crumble is back on-site and ready for a forever home. Drop by to meet her between 10:00am and 3:00pm to see if she is your new best firend!
