Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Rocco and his sister Abby were entrusted to our care through the Final Wish Program after their mom passed away. This dynamic duo arrived on October 2nd and quickly became volunteer favorites for their super sweet personalities and clear love for each other. Given their special bond, we would love to find a special family who will adopt Rocco and Abby together. They have experienced a lot of change in the months since their mom died, but they have always had each other.
11-year-old Rocco is a very friendly boy who loves being around people, leans in for petting, gives kisses, and thinks he is a lap dog! He gets along wonderfully with his sister Abby. She is also sweet, friendly, and just as loving.
Volunteers took Rocco and Abby on a special afternoon outing and shared this rave review afterwards:
"We were so lucky to spend the day with Rocco and Abby. First things first, this is SUCH a sweet duo. You can tell how much they love each other, they often give each other kisses and are just so comfortable together. It was so cute watching them share their water bowl!
Rocco is a social butterfly and loves pets and attention. Just a couple minutes after meeting them, Rocco asked my husband if he could come up for a cuddle. He IS a perfect (large) lap dog. He is a very good boy, and he listened to my "no thank you" when he tried to jump on my lap later in the day. Abby is a little sweetie pie, she didn't try to get on our laps but loved getting pets and giving kisses.
We had a wonderful day around town, picked up dog treats at the pet store on our way to Mountain Valley Ranch's pumpkin patch. They loved taking in the scents and sights at the pumpkin patch. They both walk well on leash with each other, Abby loves trying to keep up with Rocco. We then went to lunch at the Ramona Cafe, and Rocco and Abby were very well- behaved. When the food came out, Rocco was very curious, but he was easily redirected with doggy treats and lost interest in our food.
After lunch, we went to Collier Park to walk and find some shade. Rocco is big cuddler, and when my husband laid down on the grass, Rocco cuddled right up while Abby gave him kisses. Rocco and Abby enjoyed walking through the grass and Rocco loved rolling around on it.
After spending some time at the park we drove down to Orfila Vineyards. Again Rocco and Abby were very well behaved, and both made friends with other guests who gave them pets.
Rocco and Abby are just the sweetest pups, and hopefully they can find their forever home together soon."
Rocco and Abby just went to live in a Foster home! We look forward to learning what they are like in a home environment, while they enjoy extra love & cuddles. Check back soon for an update on how this special pair is doing!
