My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Journey is a sweet, goofy pup who wants nothing more than to play with his person all day long! This guy will zoom around you until he gets zoomies out, then he’s ready to cuddle up for some snuggles. He has a careful attitude and loves attention. He cannot wait to find his human companion!

Some volunteers told us: `We had a great time playing with Journey in the yard and then taking him for a short leash walk. Journey gave us a full upper body workout on the leash, but he is both very smart and very treat motivated so teaching him good leash manners should be straightforward for a patient person. He loves, loves, loves treats and will sit for them if he understands it’s not optional. He has tons of energy and entertained us greatly with his zoomies!

He would do great in a foster home or home with someone experienced with proper socializing. He did fine with my dog and cats, but he didn’t seem to know how to interact with them and defaulted to avoiding the interactions with the other animals whenever possible. He could thrive as an only pet, but I think he could just as easily be happy with other pets in the family as long as the person introduces them all to each other the right way. He would need to learn how to interact with the other animals.

He LOVED my husband, but he was so happy to just snuggle everyone. He does the cutest thing when he wants to snuggle you when you’re standing. He comes up and stands on his hind legs with his front legs on either side of one your hips and “hugs” you. He will stand there hugging you as long as he can, till you remove him or he slips down too far. lol. He did good in the car once he settled, but he likes to be able to see out the window and would need to be crated or seatbelted into the car so he doesn’t give into his need to be in your lap 24/7. He did well communicating he had to go potty when we were inside.

He slept perfectly through the whole night in a crate in our bedroom. With a high value treat/chew, he has a bit of resource guarding. He didn’t express any food aggression or resource guarding when feeding kibble in a bowl. He also is insanely gentle when taking treats from your hand. He has absolutely no interest in toys. He would much rather cuddle or play with you. He is the definition of a Velcro dog. If he could be inside your skin 24/7 he would. He makes the cutest happy grunts and grumbles when he is getting some good snuggles. He is VERY smart and picks up on new skills
