My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Poppy: Your New Best Friend

About Poppy:
Poppy is a kind-hearted, gentle, and loving Pit Bull who is eagerly waiting to find her forever home. With her big, soulful eyes and wagging tail, she’ll melt your heart in an instant. Poppy’s affectionate nature makes her the perfect companion for anyone looking for a loyal friend to share their life with. Whether it’s snuggling on the couch or enjoying a walk in the park, Poppy is always up for spending quality time with her humans.

What to Expect When Owning a Pitbull:

  1. Loyal Companionship: Pit Bulls are known for their strong bond with their owners. Poppy will be your steadfast friend, always ready to offer a comforting nuzzle or a playful wag.
  2. Training and Socialization: Like any dog, Poppy will benefit from consistent training and socialization. Pit Bulls are intelligent and eager to please, making them highly trainable. Positive reinforcement techniques will help Poppy learn and thrive.
  3. Exercise Needs: Poppy has a moderate energy level. Regular exercise, such as daily walks and playtime, will keep her happy and healthy. Pit Bulls enjoy activities that engage both their minds and bodies, so consider puzzle toys or agility training.
  4. Health and Wellness: Regular veterinary check-ups, a balanced diet, and proper grooming are essential to keep Poppy in top shape. Pit Bulls can be prone to certain health issues, so it’s important to stay proactive about her health.

What to Expect When Adopting a New Dog:

  1. Adjustment Period: Bringing a new dog home is an exciting time, but it’s also an adjustment for everyone involved. Give Poppy time to acclimate to her new environment and establish a routine.
  2. Patience and Love: Adoption is a journey that requires patience and love. Poppy may need time to feel completely comfortable, but your consistent care will help her blossom.
  3. Building Trust: Establishing trust is crucial. Spend quality time with Poppy, offer plenty of positive reinforcement, and create a safe, loving environment where she can thrive.
  4. Support System: Don’t hesitate to reach out for support. Whether it’s advice from a veterinarian, training classes, or connecting with other pet owners, there are many resources available to help you and Poppy succeed.

Adopting Poppy means welcoming a wonderful friend into your life. Her kind, gentle, and loving nature will bring endless joy and companionship. Are you ready to make Poppy a cherished member of your family? She’s ready to fill your home with love and laughter.

More about this rescue

We are dedicated to saving dogs from high kill shelters, strays, owner surrenders and hoarders. We have been saving animals since December 2016. We hold weekly adoption events at various pet stores and pet expos. We hire dog walkers to walk our dogs and we have volunteers who help us weekly. Many of our dogs go to boarding and training to become adoptable and work on their behavioral issues. All our dogs are assessed to find a great family match.

All dogs receive all necessary medical attention and all dogs are vetted.
