My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buddy is an absolute gem who is eager to please his person! He loves learning new tricks and having his brain worked, whether it's a 15-minute training session or a puzzle toy he has to figure out himself and trust me he will! He LOVES playing outside in the pool or chasing around the sprinkler stream and also enjoys long hikes through the woods. Buddy is a very active boy who would do best with a yard to run or a lake to swim in. Are you ready for a companion to keep you on your toes?

We do same-day adoptions, do not hold dogs, and work on a first-come, first-served basis as long as it is an excellent fit for both parties. If you have questions or want to possibly schedule an appointment on one of our closed days, you may email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com.

Dog adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccine (if age-appropriate), distemper/parvo combination vaccine, leptospirosis vaccine (if age-appropriate), bordetella vaccine, deworming, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea preventative, a dental cleaning (if necessary), and a microchip. Future vaccines, tests, and treatments will be the responsibility of the adopter.

More about this shelter

Adopt-A-Pet, Inc. is committed to helping people and animals in need. We hold ourselves to a high standard – one which looks out for the physical AND mental well-being of our animals. Our mission is to provide a means to place unwanted, adoptable animals into appropriate, loving homes. We are committed to reduce the amount of animals killed daily in overcrowded shelters by providing programs to help. All animals are fixed, vaccinated, tested and microchipped prior to adoption. All potential adopters are screened to ensure an appropriate match is made.

Adopt-A-Pet takes pride ensuring the animals' mental faculties are attended to by utilizing puzzle bowls for feeding, including enrichment activities in their daily care, providing music and olfactory stimulation to take their minds off the shelter. Each animal gets at least one session of training per day.

Adopt-A-Pet is a non-profit, animal center situated on eight acres in Fenton, Michigan. The beautiful grounds include an agility course to keep the dogs busy, four fenced areas for the dogs to play and gorgeous landscaping.
