My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Alex and Nicki: Two Sweet 7-Year-Old Labradors in Need of a Forever Home!

(This is a courtesy post on Rescue Ridge) Contact 732-275-4924 to learn more about how you can make Alex and Nicki a part of your family.

These two lovely 7-year-old Labrador mixes, Alex and Nicki, are searching for a forever home where they can try to stay together and live out their golden years surrounded by love. They’ve spent their entire lives together, and now they need your help to keep it that way, if possible!

About Alex & Nicki:

  • Age: 7 years old, with hearts full of love!
  • Health: The owner will have them vaccinated and heartworm tested before they join your family.
  • Status: They’re ready to bring joy and companionship into your life.

Alex and Nicki are in a temporary home right now, but it’s just that…temporary. These sweet girls deserve a permanent place to feel safe and loved for the rest of their lives. Ideally, they would love to find a home together, but two loving homes would be OK if necessary, too.

Please Don’t Let Them End Up in a Shelter!
They’ve been through so much together and don’t deserve to spend their final years in a shelter. Alex and Nicki will warm your heart, and all they ask in return is a loving home where they can stay together. However, finding two separate but loving homes would still be a wonderful outcome if needed.

✨ How You Can Help:

  • Adopt: Open your heart and home to Alex and Nicki.
  • Share: Even if you can’t adopt, please share this message to help them find their forever home.

Let’s work together to make sure these two sweet girls find the loving home they deserve. They’ve given so much love in their lives—now it’s their turn to receive it. ❤️

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Just contact us at rescueridgeshelter@gmail.com, or call us at 732-681-3450, and we will be happy to provide you with an adoption application and, upon review of personal reference checks, vet checks, and possibly home visits, you may be chosen as a permanent home for that special companion. Please note that filling out an application does NOT automatically approve anyone for a specific adoption. We want to assure that the companion and adoptive family are each going to benefit from the adoption, and that it is as permanent an adoption as possible. We ask for help through donations to help cover the costs associated with keeping the companions up-to-date on vaccinations and spay/neuter programs. We request a donation of $100 for cats, and $200 - $400 for dogs, depending on the specific rescue. We are a tax-exempt organization so that any donation you make to Rescue Ridge is tax deductible, and all costs go directly to all of the animals we rescue.

More about this rescue

Rescue Ridge is a 'last-chance' rescue. Staffed 100% through the efforts and donations of volunteers, we find homes for animals that other shelters and people have given up on. Through the kindness of various boarding kennels and foster families, rescued animals are cared for until they find that final family to love them.

Rescue Ridge began by rescuing healthy, beautiful, animals that were slated to be euthanized through no fault of their own. We felt it was unfair, that because their 'humans' had no more use for them, their days were numbered. We have tried to give each and every one of these companions a new lease on life. We rescued dogs, cats, horses and any other animal that we were able to help with our limited resources. And since we have limited space, we are always searching for those willing to help foster these wonderful creatures. We are always happy to provide information on options available to anyone needing to re-home their pet for whatever reason. It is our belief that education regarding pet ownership and its responsibilities is the best hope these companions have. You will have unending rewards when you give a second chance to one of these wonderful friends. They truly are the champions of giving unconditional love.
