My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ghost, a shy but endearing cat who's looking for a loving forever home. Ghost is a quiet soul who takes his time warming up to new people. Though he may be a bit reserved at first, his affectionate side shines through once he feels safe and secure. Ghost enjoys lounging in cozy corners and watching the world go by, and he has a special fondness for gentle pats and soothing voices. If you're patient and understanding, Ghost will reward you with a deep, quiet bond and the sweet companionship of a cat who truly appreciates the warmth of a loving home. He may be hard of hearing and would be best as an indoor only cat. He previously lived in a quiet, senior home so isn't used to living with young kids and other pets. He may be able to get used to other animals with proper, slow introductions.

**Ghost is currently awaiting dental surgery an is not available to be officially adopted just yet but local adopters may have the option of doing a foster to adopt.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
