My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ABOUT ME...
My name is Deeogee! My previous owners had to surrender me after a death in the family, and I am patiently waiting to find my next home. I am pocket-sized and extremely cuddly. I'm always excited to explore outside with you (on leash!) but my absolute favorite thing is snuggling on the couch with my foster parents, wrapped up in a blanket. I have playful moments too, I love to have toys thrown for me and playing chase. My current foster siblings are a little too old, but I'd love to play with other dogs.

I AM GREAT WITH...
All people, other dogs and sleeping in my crate at night. I'm very gentle and affectionate. My foster family says I'm a definite lap dog, good with men, women and children.

I AM STILL WORKING ON...
Responding to my name (it could be changed) and walking on a leash. I get so excited to smell everything that I can sometimes pull people around. My foster family thinks a little time spent training me would be very effective. I still bark a bit at cats, but I don't fight, and I could easily learn to love a patient cat sibling. I'm also working on how to tell people when I need to go outside. It's much easier now that I'm fixed, and I get better every day.

I AM NOT GOOD WITH...
Being outside without my leash. It might be my beagle side, but I'm very fast and I get so wrapped up in following a scent that I could get lost, even though I love your company. I would LOVE a fenced yard, but I'm okay as long as I'm on a leash, especially if my next family could work on this with me.

**All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. Booster shots are included in the adoption fee and will be performed at our clinic, or the adopter can use their own vet at their expense. Adopters must reside within 2 hours of Columbus, OH. No transportation assistance is available.**
