My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Searching for a house hippo made of pure love, affection and adoration? That’s Cooper. Cooper is a complete baby, and we envision him as the baby of the home, being doted after and swaddled in full body snuggles. He’s an absolute cutie pie too, and we know he’ll be a hit on your #dogstagram! Let’s also not forget about the cutest thing about Cooper, which are those EARS! How can you resist those perfectly straight and spotted piggy ears?!

Cooper is around 5 years old, and weighs in at a snuggly, potato shaped 45 pounds. We believe Cooper to be a pittie mix of some sort, with a wiggly butt and a natural love for humanity to prove his lineage! He is a rescue, so his exact age and breed are unknown and cannot be guaranteed. Cooper is a mellow, loving, goofy boy. He’s prone to the occasional burst of zoomies or excited wiggles, but otherwise content to spend his day on the couch, snuggled up with his favorite human.

Fall in love with Cooper here: https://youtu.be/lTejVHkLtBg?si=10VFshvRUkdGT-m0

Cooper is dog-friendly and is so great with other dogs that he’s even occasionally used as an assessment dog here at the rescue. This means that Cooper welcomes our new intake dogs, and teaches them that the rescue is a fun and safe place to be, while showing us bits of their personality that are only apparent in dog-to-dog interactions. He would do great in a home with other dogs that either like to play or with dogs that are aloof too. He does a pretty good job at matching other dogs energies, never being too pushy. He’ll play if another dog wants to play but is also respectful if they don’t want to play. Cooper would also do great as an only dog as well. He doesn’t need the company or another dog to help him open up and feel comfortable. This boy is confident, snuggly and goofy all on his own. He would also do best in a home with no cats.

Cooper is a total sweetheart with humans too. He loves any and all affection from us, absolutely melting into a puddle of love in our laps. So much so that he will take any opportunity to get into your lap. He’s a lap dog in his eyes. He gives the sweetest, gentlest kisses too. He’s a gentle dog all the way around, easy on leash, and a gentle treat taker. Cooper is a considerate companion dog with fantastic house manners. He is very good in his crate, with no barking or accidents!

This smart boy is treat motivated and eager to please, he already knows a handful of commands. He loves to learn and he makes training so much and enjoyable. You could probably even teach him to do whatever you wanted him to do. Cooper has mastered “lay down,” “sit,” “crawl,” “spin, and the “out” command, to name a few. He is the whole package, the type of man’s best friend that will do anything for you. His loyalty is unmatched, he’s your future soul dog.

Cooper’s ideal home can either be a home with a backyard or even an apartment as long as he gets his daily walks in. Cooper loves to roll around in the yard, go for walks, and lounge in his dog bed. He has a perfectly balanced energy which gives him a lot of options in regards to the type of home he would do best in. Cooper would be a great dog to have around with friends at a cook out, perfect to take with you on adventures, and an even better dog to have around for those lazy Sunday’s. He’ll snuggle all day. He would also make a great family dog with kids 10+ or even a great dog for a solo person. He’s loves people! He’s such a lovable guy, to meet him is to fall in love. He’s friendly with new people, and we’re confident that it will be love at first sight for Cooper when he meets his forever family.

Cooper is such a charmer, a sweet little angel looking for his forever family. If you have any specific questions about Cooper, please be in touch! We are willing to test Cooper with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 25% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
