My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Coal, a gentle soul with eyes that tell a story of resilience and hope. This handsome boy may have a rough exterior, but beneath that rugged look lies a heart full of love just waiting for the right person to discover it. Despite his current situation, Coal is incredibly sweet and affectionate. He is a calm, easy going companion who would love to spend his days lounging around the house, going on leisurely walks, or simply enjoy the quiet comfort of your company. Our vet has diagnosed Coal with Chronic allergies that have been left untreated, and thus the reason for the current state of his skin and hair loss. However, with the appropriate treatment, Coal's fur will regrow, and he will be back to having that dark, sleek, and shiny coat for which he was named for. Coal is ready to leave his past behind and start a new chapter with a loving family. Could that be you?

Additional adoption info

We encourage everyone interested in adopting a new pet to come visit the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter to view the wonderful selection of cats, dogs and small animals we have available for adoption. When you see an animal you are interested in, come in as soon as possible as we are first come, first serve and are unable to place HOLDS on pets over the phone.

Speak to an Adoption Counselor at our Adoption Center regarding your interest to adopt and they will advise you of the Hold and Adoption process. All pets adopted from our facility are microchipped, spayed or neutered and vaccinated for Rabies prior to being released to the adopter. This is required by Texas State Law for any animal adopted from an animal shelter or rescue group. We do allow out of area adoptions as long as the selected pet is old enough to receive these services prior to being released to the adopter.
