I adopted Murphie from a local shelter in June 2021. She was definitely nervous but came out of her shell quickly and turned into a happy playful girl. My now husband adopted a golden in 2023 and the dogs all became best friends - I have 1 other dog as well. Once the golden was grown, fights began to break out.
Around the same time, Murph was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis. Murph has fought through multiple cases of pneumonia and against the odds is now thriving, except that the golden now lives with us. We have tried everything imaginable to reconcile the dogs but have continually failed. We believe Murph will be happier in a single dog household. Her MG requires medicine 3 times a day and for her to eat and drink in her chair. It’s a very manageable disease and we expect her to be in remission in the next few months.
We’re looking for someone willing to care of a dog with special needs and provide a safe and peaceful environment to her.
