My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Suni is a sweet and resilient little lady who has faced more challenges in her 5 years than most dogs should. Despite her past, she remains hopeful and ready to find a forever home where she can be loved and cared for as she deserves.

Suni has limited mobility in her back legs, but she doesn’t let that stop her from enjoying life. She can still walk around a bit, though her mobility is limited. To help her get around more comfortably, she has a custom wheelchair that she uses on occasion. This wheelchair will go home with her when she’s adopted, ensuring she has everything she needs to continue living her best life.

Suni is also bladder and bowel incontinent, meaning she needs assistance with expressing her bladder several times a day to prevent infections and keep her healthy. She’s very cooperative during this process, and our dedicated staff is more than willing to teach you how to care for her special needs.

Despite the challenges she faces, Suni is a gentle, loving dog who thrives on human connection. She enjoys being held and loves to snuggle up with her favorite people. Her calm and docile personality makes her a great companion for other mellow dogs, though she can be a bit shy around more energetic ones.

Suni is looking for a special adopter—someone with experience caring for dogs with unique needs or someone who is patient and willing to learn. She would do best in a home where her person isn’t gone for long hours during the day, as she needs regular care and plenty of love.

Suni’s journey hasn’t been easy, but with the right family, her future can be bright. If you think you could be the one to give Suni the loving, supportive home she deserves, she’s ready and waiting to meet you. Please inquire today!

More about this rescue

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
