Baylor has been in the rescue for a little bit now and is looking to find his FURever home. This sweet boy has so much going for him besides his good looks. You can take him just about anywhere dogs are welcomed since he is so well behaved on a leash. Baylor will make the best sidekick on all your Home Depot runs, in need of a brewery buddy or a date to Sunday brunch, he's your guy. His happy place is at the beach where he loves to lay in the sand and frolic in the waves. But he's equally happy just cuddling on the couch with you chewing his favorite bone watching Netflix.
Sure he has a few quirks, but who doesn't?! Baylor is not crazy about the crate or being left alone. But, the good thing is if he's left out he doesn't get into anything! He's making so much progress with the crate too and will sleep in there at night and after walks to decompress. He's learning that it's not so bad to have a safe space of his own and is thriving with consistency and routine. Which is making him a little less anxious when alone. It should be noted that in past foster homes he was doing a bit of resource guarding with some toys. But we have not experienced that with him in our home. Don't get me wrong he loves toys, but they're not around long enough since he just likes to destroy them. So he prefers a good chew instead. Baylor has a calm demeanor on his leash (gentle leader), but he is still every bit a one year old puppy at home and would benefit from extra training/boundaries due to his size.
Baylor is around 70 lbs. which may not seem very big, but he is a strong boy. He is fully house trained, walks well on a leash (he loves to go on long walks), plays great with dogs, good with kids (older is preferred since he doesn't know his own size and could knock them down when playing, running, etc...). His ideal home would be one with large dog experience, where his humans aren't working long shifts away from him, takes him on fun adventures, daily walks and will continue to help him with his training/socialization. Baylor has moved around a lot in his first year of life and we want his last stop to be his FURever one.
Additional information:
Please note: we have many dogs who are not yet listed as available due to the availability of volunteer time to post or because they are puppies. If you are looking for a dog, we recommend filling out an application and indicating what you are looking for in a dog. Our volunteers work hard to match approved applicants with the best dogs for their lifestyle.
