My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Flash is a sweet and cuddly older gentleman that is having a midlife crisis– in a good way! He’s feeling quite a bit sassier since he’s been on a diet and had a much-needed dental surgery. He’s still working hard at keeping up with his foster sisters, and while his short little legs deceive him a bit, he’s pretty proud that he can now follow everyone up and down the stairs several times a day, and no longer needs assistance when jumping on the couch. He does need assistance getting into the car and LOVES car rides. He enjoys strutting and exploring on his daily walks and finds joy in sniffing around the garden or trails, and lounging in the sunshine. And what a difference his dental surgery has made! He’s literally found his voice again (but really only makes a peep if his foster sisters get their barks on – he’s mostly quiet), has taken up grooming, scratching with his back leg, and licking himself like regular dogs do, and welcomes ear and under the chin scratches, now. He enjoys his kennel and sleeps there in the room at night with everyone else in the family bedroom. He likes being with his people! He also goes willingly into his kennel if he needs to be left alone during the day.

Flash needs a fur ever family that will continue to help him achieve his weight-loss goals by keeping up with light exercise and offering him healthy, low-calorie snacks for being a very good boy. He LOVES most vegetables and has developed a liking for canned green beans and cooked carrots (no salt please!).

At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes 7+ days.  Keep in mind, the animal you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold.   Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals. Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100% foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules.  Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.

**Dog/Puppy applications -  Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient. We do not do first come first serve but we place the dog/puppy in the best suited home. If you have questions about the Dog/Puppy process please email lawsdogprogram@gmail.com**
