My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Majestic is a happy lady! She loves attention and has lots of playful energy! She could use a little TLC in her life. She may be a bit much for tiny humans as she's a bit jumpy.

"Majestic did amazing on our walk. She loved stopping for some butt scratches and pets. When we stopped for water breaks she just wanted to sit on my lap and get some love. She did great with my 10 year old daughter but did want to jump up on her when she wasn't being petted. She could sit for treats and took them gently."

"Majestic is such a lovely little lady. She was polite and kept a good pace on the walk the entire time. She was very well tempered, and very treat motivated. She knew sit and paw to my knowledge. Majestic is one of the most well-mannered and calmer shelter dogs I have met. She was even understanding about going back into the shelter even though I know that is the last place she'd want to go back to. Anyone would be lucky to adopt her and have her as their pet."

"Majestic is definitely an energetic and loving dog. She LOVES belly rubs and balls. She wanted pets from every person she could get them from. Today Majestic and I went on a short walk and chilled at my apartment. On the walk she did try to pull at other dogs, but other than that was a slow and calm walker! In my apartment she got lots of love and playtime. She was very happy when I threw the ball for her to chase, but was also perfectly content playing on her own. Majestic definitely would benefit from a family that has the ability to make her the center of attention. She would love an active family to play with (but doesn't need to be active all the time since she was happy playing by herself)."

More about this shelter

Welcome to CMHS! In continuous operation since 1943, the Central Missouri Humane Society promotes the well-being of companion animals – pets that enrich the lives of the people who love them.

The Columbia Humane Society was formed in 1943 to provide shelter and care for Columbia’s abandoned animals. Originating in a little structure on Creasy Springs Road, the organization has grown into today’s Central Missouri Humane Society, a regional animal welfare agency caring for thousands of animals annually and providing veterinary services for low-income pet owners.
