Meet Socks, a lively puppy who`s as playful as they come. His energy is infectious, making every day an adventure. He`s a bundle of joy, always ready to play and explore. Socks is a cuddly companion, loving nothing more than to snuggle up after a day of fun. At 41 pounds, he thinks he is a good lap dog and deserves lots of petting. His sweet nature and friendly disposition make him a joy to be around. Despite his love for play, Socks can be a bit too jumpy around children and is not a fan of cats. He doesn`t have any experience with dogs yet. He`s a bit noisy and has a tendency to chew, indicating he needs some training. Leash training and house training are both on his to do list. But don`t let that deter you. With patience and love, Socks will surely blossom into the perfect pet. He was given up because he grew too fast and had too much energy for his family. Pet Adoption Fees
CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
