Cooper is a 6 year old Friesian/Arab/Morgan cross gelding. He is 15.1 hands tall, sound, healthy and current on his shots, wormers and trimmings. He is broke to ride and has pretty much been in constant training for the past 8 or 9 months. He is a very attentive and willing learner and his training shows, he is very obedient under saddle and has never bucked, reared or bolted. Under saddle he is very solid, calm and not at all spooky. His training has been English with Dressage in mind and he was worked under saddle 4 days a week until coming here to MHWF. He is very likeable with tons of personality. Everyone who meets him likes him. Cooper does need a little work on his ground manners, he likes to lead his handler on the lead line, but we will have that fixed in a couple days. He leads. loads, ties and stands nicely for the vet and farrier. Once of the reasons Cooper was brought here is because he was terrified of other horses, to the point of picking a direction and running, a couple times through the fence. Cooper spent the first 5 years of his life completely alone. We have been spending a lot of time working on this since Cooper arrived and are very pleased with his remarkable progress. He is now out to pasture with the rest of the herd and has not had any problems, no running for his life and no broken fences. He even has a couple of horses he is semi-buddies with. We have even gotten Cooper to eat side by side with some of the more dominant horses in the pasture and he is already starting to love being part of the herd. We hope and expect that most of his fear issues will be gone within a few days or so. Whoever adopts him should just make sure that introductions take place in a larger pasture where he has room to get away if he feels threatened and not in a small enclosed area. We fully expect him to love and become part of the herd and no longer feel as though this is going to be a long term issue for him. Someone is going to get a sensational horse!
