My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Oscar, the big-hearted cuddle bug who's ready to find his forever home! This sweet pup got his name after being discovered abandoned outside the shelter, munching on hotdog buns. While he was a little scared at first, Oscar quickly realized he was safe and loved in our care, and now he's blossomed into the affectionate, playful dog we all adore.

Oscar is a snuggle enthusiast who firmly believes he's a lap dog, despite his size. He loves nothing more than jumping up to give hugs and showering you with affection. Whether you're in the mood for a playful romp or a cozy cuddle session, Oscar is always up for making your day a little brighter.

If you're looking for a loyal companion who's full of love and ready to snuggle his way into your heart, Oscar is your guy! To meet Oscar in person or fill out an adoption application, visit our website or stop by the shelter. Oscar can't wait to meet you!

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is proud to be a no-kill animal welfare agency. We are committed to finding great homes for great pets! As a 501(c)(3) nonproft, we receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from individuals, companies and grants to fund our programs and services. We are not affiliated with any other animal agency on a local, state or national level. Since 1902, our organization has been devoted to being a voice for the voiceless. Although we proudly find more than 2,000 animals forever homes every year, we are far more than an adoption center. We currently have a wide array of programs to support animals in our community. Through our high-volume spay and neuter clinic, we are able to help pet owners as well as battle cat overpopulation through Trap-Neuter-Return. Our humane society agents also work tirelessly to protect pets from cruel and neglectful circumstances through our Cruelty & Neglect Investigations Department. Through our Veterinary Hospital, we can provide top-quality access to veterinary care at a low cost to pet owners. In addition to our many programs, our organization is unique because we are the only agency in the community able to handle all types of animals. This includes cats and dogs but also rabbits, birds, farm animals, pocket pets and exotics. Our organization is committed to providing our community, our state and our region with support and care.
