Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there! I'm Sky Jo, but my foster parents call me Sky, and when I hear my name, I come to you right away! I am an 8 year old Labrador Mix and weigh about 80 lbs. Sadly, I found myself in a shelter in 110 degree heat, for over a month...extremely underweight with a horrible ear infection that ruptured my eardrums and made me sick. Thankfully, I was a shelter employee favorite and they called SCLRR who came for me and saved my life!
My foster mom says I'm a gentle, easy going old soul, who is happy enough just being home and spending time with my people. Whether you're outside cleaning the patio, gardening, tending the chickens, or watering the ponies...I'll be there. I am excellent on the leash and enjoy going for walks.
I am calm and have good manners inside the home as well. I don't mess with anything or chew up things and I can be left alone for hours with no drama. I do like to come over for pets, and when you're done, I will go lay down on my bed... always closest to you.
I currently share a home with 5 other dogs and a cat, as well as some farm animals. Other than the cat (who I chase!), I mostly mind my business, but would be most happy being an only dog, or maybe one other mellow dog friend.
You may have noticed my tail - or lack thereof. This is how I have always been and it doesn't bother me. I am hoping it won't bother you either. I think it makes me look unique!
I'm looking for a home with no small children, as I am 80+ lbs. and could accidentally knock them down. Because I am a little older girl, I am on supplements and medication for arthritis and I should stay on them for the rest of my life. I just want to be warm in the winter and cool in the summer and hang with my people...maybe have a splashy pool to play in (it's my Labrador blood!).
If I sound like the girl for you, please reach out to your Family Rep. Thank you for listening and I will be patently waiting until you find me.
If you are interested in making this Lab part of your family, please contact your SCLRR family representative. If you have not yet applied with us, please submit an online application to adopt; an SCLRR volunteer will then contact you. Please note that your homecheck must be approved in order for you to be put in touch with the dog's foster home.
