Hi there! My name is Maximus and I'm an 8 and a half year old Akita boy who came to the shelter in July! Because I'm a bit of an older boy, I'm not super energetic. Mostly I like to rest and take naps, but I also like to run around outside and play with toys a few times a day. My new friends are still getting to know me, but so far they think I'm sweet, docile, and that I just like to relax and do my own thing. If you would like to get to know me more please call my friends at the shelter to set up a meet and greet appointment! Thank you!

The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society (SGVHS) was founded by Fannie Thompson Kessler in 1924.

For almost 100 years, the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society has provided a variety of services to the local communities. Currently we serve the cities of San Gabriel, Temple City and Duarte.

We provide food, shelter and medical care to hundreds of dogs and cats who are stray and homeless, or have been rescued from abusive conditions or relinquished by their owners.
