Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Looking for a senior dog who enjoys her daily walks and mealtimes but values her own space? We have just the girl for you! (If you're looking for a lap dog or if you can't go for a couple walks a day, she is NOT your girl!)
Zoey was surrendered in 2020 when her family wanted to travel, and her independent nature meant there wasn't a strong connection. She was adopted shortly after & returned after 4 years due to safety concerns with bigger dogs now in the home.
After addressing some health issues (dental, uti, double ear infections along with fixing her cherry eye), Zoey is now ready to find her forever home where this beautiful, aloof introvert can live out her Golden Years.
Zoey is mostly deaf but can hear sharp noises. She isn't a lap dog and prefers minimal petting (she is not a fan of being approached over her head/head shy) but will engage more with you once she trusts that you will respect her (brief pets & waiting for her to ask for more). She's good with dogs her size that leave her alone but will chase after cats (& lizards with a quickness). No small children & only older kids who understand her detached nature.
To learn more about Zoey and potentially become her forever family, please complete the application found on our website at PapillonPalsRescue.com . Our adoption radius is 250'ish miles from Jacksonville, FL. All other pets must be spayed/neutered and on heartworm prevention.

In order to ensure a perfect match, we screen all adoption applicants. We require anyone wanting to adopt to complete an adoption application and we check personal and vet references. Final step before files goes to the Adoption Committee for review is to conduct a home visit with all members of the potential adoptive family. Fees for adoptions vary based on whether the dog's purebred, the age and health status of the dog. Contact us via email and we will send you our Adoption Application and tell you a little more about the dog you're interested in adopting!
