My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Shandy, a gentle soul residing in a shelter. She`s an adult dog who carries a quiet grace, her demeanor reflecting a shy yet endearing personality. Shandy`s loyalty is her most prominent trait, a steadfast companion who would walk to the ends of the earth for those she loves. Her gentle nature makes her the perfect fit for a calm household, where she can blossom in her own time. Shandy`s journey has shaped her into the loyal and gentle dog she is today. She has so much love to give, and all she asks for in return is a loving home where she can share her gentle spirit. Adopt Shandy, and let her loyalty and love enrich your life.

More about this shelter

We are an open admissions shelter, meaning we take in homeless animals regardless of age, breed, health, temperament or lack of space. On average, we take in about 5,500 stray, surrendered and abandoned animals per year including dogs, cats, small mammals, birds and reptiles. We provide adoption services to find safe, happy homes for these pets; and also provide low-cost vaccination and microchip clinics to help safeguard them against illness or being lost forever.
