My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Luna was brought into the shelter after her owners called and said she chewed her tail off and they didn't know what to do. Turns out Luna did not chew her tai off. She has a clean straight cut off her tail. She is such a sweet dog and we don't know why someone would do something so cruel to her. Her owners are going to court to try and charge them with cruelty to animals.
In the meantime Luna is looking for a new home that will love her and never hurt her. She is great around other dogs, cats and children. Her tail is doing so much better and she would really like to find a home. She is sad being here and would much rather curl up on someone's couch with them. She is 11 years old, spayed and up to date.

More about this shelter

Our shelter is staffed by only 2 employees so we greatly depend on volunteers to help care for our animals.
We work very closely with rescue groups to help move our dogs out of the shelter quickly. Our goal is to never have to euthanize for space. We cannot do that without rescue assistance because our adoption rates are very low.
