Foster Home Feedback
08/12/2024 Foster Feedback: This little fur-ball looks to be part husky and part teddy bear. She is the sweetest girl, can be a little shy at times, but loves to snuggle and bury her head into you. When you find the right spot to scratch just behind her ears, her hind legs starts going crazy and her smile is a mile wide.
Bowbwa’s potty training is coming along nicely. We have had very few accidents since she has been in my home and has started going to the door when she needs to go out. Crate training is an ongoing process and will continue to need work. She will whine when I put her in there but will calm down quickly. When she knows I am about to leave and starts to get anxious, I try to spend a couple minutes petting her and talking to her and this seems to help when I have to put her in the crate.
Bowbwa is great around children and loves all people in general. She gets very excited when she sees dogs, but can be shy when she meets them up close. She doesn’t pull much while on walks except when she wants to meet and greet the neighborhood rabbits and squirrels. If I don’t give her the opportunity to chase, she will just stop for a second and stare before continuing on with the walk.
Although Bowbwa is 10-months-old, she can still act like a puppy when seeing things for the first time. I have a crate of toys that she did not touch for the longest time. The squeaky toys scared her at first and she had no idea what to do with a ball other than smell it. Through watching my dog interact with the toys she is slowly learning how to play and it has been so much fun to see her experiencing all the new things life has to offer her.
Bowbwa would do great in a home with other dogs or in a home where she is the only dog. She has so much love to give and thrives on human interaction. Bowbwa will require a little bit of patience and training, you will never regret the decision to bring this little ball of love into your home.
