Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jett is one of only 2 siblings that survived from their litter of 6. Born to a mom kept on a chain (hardly fed) and constantly having babies, Jett and her brother Duncan were lucky enough to survive. Thanks to a kind-hearted neighbor who kept them fed and dewormed, they were able to grow into strong and confident puppies. Ideally, Duncan and Jett would love to stay together but getting them adopted is most important! Jett is playful and loving and just wants a family and home to call her own. We are working on getting her spayed very soon and up to date on vaccines.
The adoption fee includes everything to get her to you in Canada (vet certificates, rabies vaccine, airline fee, adoption fee and crate).

Their adoption process

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

People can visit the Haven in Jamaica and meet animals they're interested in or they can check our adoption database or social media posts

2.
Submit Application

This can be done before or after choosing a pet.

3.
Approve Application

Once everything looks good on the application, we'll contact successful applicants.

4.
Pay Fee

The adoption fee is $100usd but the adoption process is under $500usd to get the pet to you in the USA or Canada

5.
Take the Pet Home

Arrangements are made with flight escorts and you pick the pet up at the airport discussed.

Our adoption process begins with the application, once approved we contact people via email or WhatsApp and we begin making the arrangements for the animals to get to where they need to go.

If you're in Jamaica we can send the location for the Haven. If not we have an adoption database that has some of our adoptable animals. We're adding more everyday but we also share our other adoptables on our social media.

More about this shelter

We are a small animal shelter and rescue in Jamaica. We're run completely on donations and we have over 170 animals in our care. We began in 2009 to try and help stray animals across the island get off the dangerous streets and find forever homes or live out their lives with us. We have sent 144 dogs to Canada in partnership with Save our Scruff at the beginning of 2021 and we've sent many others away to individual homes also. We work with people with existing reservations to transport the dogs or cats to the states or Canada. We also work with people who come to Jamaica and want to adopt one of our rescues to take home when they leave. We're a no-kill shelter and we take in more than we adopt out. Unfortunately local adoptions aren't common so we rely on international adoptions primarily.
