My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PENDING ADOPTION

Marigold came to DREAM thanks to a Good Samaritan who saved her from being shot by her previous owner who didn’t want her. In her short year of life Marigold has been through a lot. She was found to be heartworm positive and will be finished with her treatment soon. Luckily, Marigold is a healthy pup and has many years ahead to share with her future family.

Even with a rough start to life, Marigold remains happy and is blooming in her foster home. She is a playful puppy who enjoys a quality time with her foster dad & fur brother. She’s also a smart one who is crate trained, house trained and enjoys meeting new possible fur friends. She can be shy about new people but after introductions she craves affection. She does best with a quiet, adult only home or one with children older than 12 yrs. Marigold does have great interests in small furry species (read cats, squirrels, bunnies etc) so a feline -ree home is a must.

If you are interested in adopting Marigold, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Marigold's adoption fee is $600.

All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Marigold will go to his / her new home microchipped, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed.

Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia.

Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part.

DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
