Medusa was part of a large group of king pigeons dumped on Alameda Island. A dedicated group of volunteers rescued 16 survivers, including Medusa. Medusa is receiving vet care for an infected, ruptured eye. The eye is scheduled to be surgically removed. While resting and recovering preceding surgery (with appropriate analgesia and antibiotics on board), Medusa enjoyed what were likely her first experiences being misted. She enjoyed lifting each wing up, one at a time. Medusa has quickly revealed herself as an amicable, loving bird. She is friendly with her flockmates (except when they invade her nest) and is very sweet to her presumed husbird, Paul Simon, with whom she shares her quickly-claimed nest box. Please apply to adopt http://www.pigeonrescue.org/birds/apply-to-foster-or-adopt/
