Leonora is a stunning caramel-colored Shih Tzu who's as sweet and calm as she is cute. This little lady loves to be wherever you are, happily lounging on the sofa or snuggling up on your bed until it's time to head outside for some fresh air and fun. She's doing great with her potty routine, and as long as you keep her on schedule, accidents are rare. Leonora adores being close to her people and gets anxious when she's apart from them, even if it's just watching from a balcony while her family is playing outside-she'll let you know she wants to be right there with you!
Though she's incredibly affectionate, Leonora isn't shy about setting boundaries when she needs a little space, offering the softest growl to let her family know she's had enough. She's wonderful with other dogs and cats, and she rides like a dream in the car. Despite being food-motivated, Leonora is still figuring out what treats she likes-so far, she hasn't found one she'll accept from a hand, but she's sure to let you know when she's ready for a bite!
With her irresistible face and adorable tongue peeking out, Leonora is the perfect companion for a family who loves having her close by. Whether she's snoozing on the couch or following you from room to room, this sweet girl just wants to love and be loved.
* Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.
